Injection moulded pawns made using Nanovia Istroflex pellets by Cap’Games
May 6, 2024Close to 10 years already Nanovia with the technical platform Compositic developed l’Istroflex, a biodegradable flexible 3D printer filament. The composite plastic pellets used for this filaments are also suited for plastic injection moulding.
Together with Cap’Games, founded by 15 students of the 3eme at the collège Saint-Jean in Guidel, that Compositic transformed this material into pawn for their game « Tonnerre de Tuiles » (lightning tiles).
Made by Actuaplast in Quimper, the 3000 paws were injection moulded in different colours, with the post processing done by the students.
After a successful crowdfunding campaign that more than doubled their initial goal, the game « Tonnerre de Tuiles « is now available.
Cap’Games was created in part for their “mini-business” class for the benefit of the charity “La démarche de Loane“, one of Cap”Games’ student who suffers from a celebral motor disorder, to facilitate her day to day life and aditionanly better adapt the Saint-Jean school for handicapped students.
